AS3 Fix: htmlText in Effect

I am using this class for an animated text effect, using CDATA as the source. This effect won't read the textfield as htmlText. I must be able to change the color of some words, for example:

var string1:String = ( <![CDATA[ It all <br>started with the <font color='ffffff'>GREEKS</font> about 600 B.C.@ ]]> ).toString();

my textField is set to htmlText, and displays properly when the typewriter effect is not applied.

I cannot give you my project file - only the effect class file.

I need a pure AS3 code only (.as file) solution, not a .FLA, as I am compiling via the command line.
