Create a website for a Local Pathfinder Society Organized Play group. ([login to view URL])
Currently we use Yahoo groups to allow us to communicate with each other via a forum.
We use the weak database in yahoo groups to setup who will play at different stores in the area and who will GM those tables.
We use the weak database in yahoo groups to keep track of the players, their Paizo Pathfinder Society numbers, their characters, the level of each character.
We use the poll system in yahoo groups to keep track of how many players in the area have played the different modules or scenarios available to us from Paizo. (which gets overwritten each time we have to make changes to the polls)
------------------------
Currently have a ipage web hosting account for the domain wanting to be used.
My vision is a webpage with a landing page with Pathfinder Logo(s) from the Community use Logos available from Paizo and some regional identifiers for our group. The Landing Page should also include contact information for the two Regional Coordinators for our area, and a way the members can log into the site using facebook, google, yahoo, or msn accounts (probably using the [login to view URL] social api - already have an account set up for this)
Inside landing page, once logged in, I see a Calendar where user can click on a day of the month, or move forward to upcoming months, and create or update a table setup.
The Fields I see for this are:
Date/time of Event (how it is hooked up to the Calendar)
Location of Event
Scenario/Module Name
GM
Player 1 Name and Character(s) Class and Level that can play in that Scenario/Module
Player 2 Name and Character(s) Class and Level that can play in that Scenario/Module
Player 3 Name and Character(s) Class and Level that can play in that Scenario/Module
Player 4 Name and Character(s) Class and Level that can play in that Scenario/Module
Player 5 Name and Character(s) Class and Level that can play in that Scenario/Module
Player 6 Name and Character(s) Class and Level that can play in that Scenario/Module
Alternate Name and Character(s) Class and Level that can play in that Scenario/Module
Date/Time and Location would need to be saved everything else would be updated later:
the GM would add their name and what Scenario they will be judging.
The Players would then be able to see what is being played, who is judging it, where it is being played and when and could then put their names down and what characters they would bring to the table to potentially play with.
In the calendar, I see the different locations being marked out in their own color and a Scenario name presented so players can see what is being played and where it is being played at and on what days and they can click on the calendar event to drill down into to see if there are seats open in which they can join.
I also see a second tab where all of this is laid out in tabular form as well for die hards that don't like using the calendar. The tabs should be sort-able by Date/Time and filterable by location however players should be able to show multiple locations for the same days if they would like (checkboxes?).
All events that are happening for future weeks, the current week, and previous week should be available on this screen starting on Sunday of previous week.
I feel all tables should be left in the database for two months but should be accessible only from an past tables link if older then the Sunday of the previous week.
There should also be a Forum available to keep in touch with each other like we do in the yahoo group (phpbb3?).
The members section that is populated from the social media sites previous mentioned, each member should have the ability to add their Paizo Society ID #, their characters they currently play with (Character Name) and their status (status=Dead or Class/level) and their Character ID number to their membership information.
ID #'s, Char names, Class and Levels should be visible to anyone who looks at profile.
