Ajax drop down and upgrade of current functionality

Input box with graphic - onclick a drop down list is shown List has several hundred items under 8 headings. Similar to the menu funcionality at [login to view URL] but with far more items. Must be beautiful to use- must be able to see all items easily. Job includes upgrade/repair/modification of several features on site.
