Hi From your description you appear to have finished only one part of DBI installation and there is a second part (an installation if you do not already have) need to be done for the DBI to work, and that includes setting up DSN. DBI is just an interface to standardise the data server communication and it abstracts out protocol level details. It does not actually know what protocol should be used to communicate with Data server. So the application becomes easily portable provided you have DBI and same protocols to communicate with data server are in the target system. I can tell you second part and that will give away your project. So I will not do that. I can provide written step of what I have done if you give me the project.
