Hello fellow Freelancers, We are looking for a Software Solution and are open for ideas. There is no complete plan as to what exactly it is that we want, we want your opinions on how you can develop it. Requisites: To be able to write/understand PERFECTLY English or German. Otherwise we wont be able to communicate and won't be satisfied with the end product. What the result is: The result is a platform where a Car transportation service can keep track of the salary of the drivers, the jobs each driver has done and each customer. There are a lot of factors like each customer (example: Mercedes,BMW,Ford) having a different price, some have prices per Mile/Km, others have Fix prices for locations (example: car being driven from Paris to Berlin: 500€). Other factors are the driver salaries: There are drivers with a monthly salary, hourly salary and the ones with fix-per-job-percentage. So there should be some database with the users, type of user etc where all these factors can be calculated. What we have now: We have a collection of Excel files (will be provided). So you should be familiar with MS Excel to see through the syntax and the file correlations. Basically every file is linked with each-other and every file is drawing data from each-other. The company is slowly but steadily growing and its gotten to a point that the Excel files take A LOT of time to save/load. Must have: -Browser support. The whole thing must be run through a Browser, Mobile or Desktop, so I guess a safe option would be PHP/Mysql. -Must be expandable. We will need more features in the future. If you are not willing to be in contact with us, please write the Software cleanly so that other people can expand it. If you are willing to work with us in the future, we will be grateful! -Not too heavy. Sure, we will put the thing on a server and add more power as we go, but it should still be affordable and not require a dedicated Xenon :P Budget: No idea, just make some offers. Do you have ideas? Are you interested and want to see the Excel files? Like I said before, I'm open to ideas as to how the software will be made, as long as it runs and works flawlessly, it could even be coded in HTML using Notepad. (not really) Also, I'm a Sysadmin, so feel free to go full Geek on me. ;)

Ok I read everything and I must say whatever we come up with together, it will take at least a month so anything below €700 is literally impossible for me to work on for that long without losing money. This project needs a solid project design and a feature list. You might even have to open up another project for consultation only- as it's a big part of this project. I would be very interested to have a look at the excel files for starters. Also you said "cleanly so that other people can expand it.". I can give you one suggestion based on my experience: stay away from freelancers with flags that contain the colors yellow, white and green. Hope to hear from you.

Hi, I have been developing websites since 2008. Prior to that I have developed customized and implemented back-office software. I have a very good knowledge of Excel und ich kann Deutsch, obwohl ich lieber auf English schreibe. I have a lot of experience designing SQL database adhering to generally accepted standards. I therefore have the skill set to deliver your project. In order to give you a better estimate it would help if you could share the Excel spreadsheets you are currently using. In any case in order to keep the budget reasonable I would recommend not developing everything from scratch but using some opensource package. I'm thinking Joomla CMS with the Seblod CCK. Seblod allows to define forms, searches and lists as well as customized templates that rely on dedicated tables in the MySQL database. Unlike other CCKs it allows to define an efficient data structure which is good for performance as well as for other developers to pick up should that be needed. That said I'm willing to build a long-term relationship. Using a standard package will anyway make future maintenance easier and development shorter as low level functionality such as authentication and access rights are already taken care of. Hallo, das beste bei so einem komplexen System ist ein persönliches Gespräch um genau zu erfahren wie ein solches Logistik Payroll System aufgebaut sein sollte. Von der Beschreibung würde ich hier Vorschlagen dass wir ein klassisches Backend und ein Front End Admin Bereich kombinieren. Im Backend können dann einzelne Fahrer/Kunden mit Ihren spezifischen Variablen (Art der Bezahlung (Fester Preis, Preis pro KM, Preis pro Strecke, Profil der Fahrer, Art des Kunden...) hinzugefügt werden können und die bestehenden von dem Excel Sheet übernommen werden. Im „Frontend“ dann können nach Kunden, Strecken, Fahrern, Preisen usw. getrackt werden und den Fahrern einzelne Strecken zugerechnet werden, und somit die monatlichen Bezahlungen errechnet werden. Auch können wir hier einzelne Levels vergeben, also Rechte von Mitarbeitern die sich in das System einloggen. Z.B. nicht jeder kann dann neue Variablen hinzufügen oder bestehende ändern, oder auch z.B. nur das Frontend oder das Backend sehen. Als Framework würden wir hier MVC Codeigniter verwenden. Sprache PHP, Datenbank: Mysql. Ist dann auch einfacxher bei solch einem Framework später neue Features hinzuzufügen. Kurz zu uns, wir sitzen in Berlin sind eine kleine Entwickler Agentur und haben bereits Erfahrung mit Großen Datenbanken und deren Verarbeitung und Integrierung in Software Systeme (Browser basiert). Hello, I have already converted 5 Excel systems into web apps. With PHP is a little bit tricky. I could recommend ASP.NET instead becouse if you use it with Telerik's tools it becomes more powerful than PHP alone. You can check the Telerik platform at telerik dot com. The speed of the web app is one of the first things that you will notice since web apps they are designed to work with large databases. If you could send me the Excel files it would be great. Hello, I don't have a bid that I can concretely confirm completion of this project with, I just have tons of bids and am looking through projects to target my learning. Honestly, after having looked through many of the different options for managing databases, web pages, etc. one of the better solutions to your particular issue appears to be a Django-based web-interface to an underlying set of tables in a database. Particularly, since you have such large excel tables either MongoDB or MySQL is a solution for storing the data - or the databasing system that comes with Django. As for presenting it, Django provides a pretty nifty system of web templates and data access methods where your overall HTML code is highly limited, while the server it's hosted on dynamically generates webpages and URLs for the data in question utilizing the templates. Since it sounds like the whole thing is internal, all you really have to do is setup a web server on your network (if you don't have one already) and have Django running on whatever part of it you want to implement this on. As to how the Django part works exactly, I'm still learning it - but I thought I'd share. It's a Python-based module that is appears pretty popular - look into it! If you don't mind sharing the data and end result I'd love to toy around with it as a learning experience. If I've completely missed the mark - totally sorry, just enjoying the learning :) Jake
