Goal:
We need an GUI installer similar to liveusb-creator. The installer should download the latest Android-x86 iso from Internet -- or specify a local ISO file, install it onto a USB disk, A PC can then boot into Android from that USB disk.
LiveCD is not acceptable. Users should be able to install new apps and save files onto the disk.
The installer should run on Linux, Windows and MacOS (at this order of release).
It should be able to write up to 16 USB disks at the same time. Each disk should have an progress indicator and an information box showing disk labels and size.
Messages and errors during the installation should be displayed somewhere, in order to understand how things are going and fix problems.
Delivery:
Binary and source code of the program.
Several notes:
1. We have a command line installer. It works fine, but since it works in console mode, user experience is really bad, and it cannot run on Windows. Please submit a solution when bidding to show you really understand the task and know how to solve the problem.
2. This is not a tiny program, please don't bid if you don't have enough time. We can split this task into smaller stages, then pay for each stage immediately after it's finished.
3. We expect someone who had experience with liveusb-creator, or have read its code. If you do not know grub very well, or do not know how to manually operate partition tables, please don't bid.
4. The UI can be designed by us.
5. The command line installer is written in Python with QT. We suggest the GUI installer use Python and QT as well
I can create installer in C++ (with full source code for you) using QT for Linux and Windows (without Mac OS). If you give me source of your command line installer - I give you the same functionality with GUI writing images to multiple USB devices. You will pay me after all is completed and tested by you. In linux it will rather required administrator privilege (sudo). I'm experienced with both Windows and Linux embedded platform so this task shouldn't be hard for me.
