We need help with the QuickPatch feature of InstallShield.
## Deliverables
1) created the base installation [login to view URL] with 1 file:
- version 1 of [login to view URL]
2) use quickpatch on [login to view URL] to create [login to view URL] that:
- updates [login to view URL] to version 2
- add 1 file: version 2 of [login to view URL]
3) use quickpatch of quickpatch on [login to view URL] to create [login to view URL] that:
- updates [login to view URL] to version 3
- updates [login to view URL] to version 3
- add 1 file: version 3 of [login to view URL]
the problem is that when we install [login to view URL] then apply [login to view URL] and [login to view URL], we get the following:
- [login to view URL] (version3)
- [login to view URL] (version2)
- [login to view URL] (version3)
the correct result should be that all 3 files are of version3 after applying the 2 patches.
any idea why [login to view URL] did not get updated by patch2 and remains at version 2?
an illustrated flash movie showing the whole process from creating the base setup to applying of the two patches showing the problem. to view it, open [login to view URL] in your browser. the original setup files and the installshield project files are located under "files" directory.
