Hi , English webmaster here. Sounds like an easy job but one that requires good methodical thinking. I know Joomla and VM like the back of my hand having worked with it for over 4 years. I would make a photoshop template for the images so they all try to look the same even though they are from different sites. Finding the images would be very easy for me - I have excellent advanced searching skills - if its out there I can find it! I would also make a CSV file for Virtuemart to be able to add all the images at once when they are all finished - this will cut down time but also it could be resuable so you could use it to bulk upload again in the future as the inventory grows.
