We currently run several websites on a dedicated Linux/Apache/MySQL/PhP server and would like to migrate to the Amazon EC2/S3 environment in anticipation of future growth.
We are looking for a Linux admin/developer familiar with the Amazon EC2/S3 Services environment ***and*** in scaling high-traffic MySQL websites. You will need to explain/recommend to us appropriate multi-server architecture options for scaling high-traffic websites (including database replication, load balancing, etc.) and methods for monitoring/fine-tuning/speeding up MySQL database performance.
We will need the following:
- web-based control panel that monitors all EC2/S3 activities
- automatic (fail-safe) scheduled backups of all data to S3
- automatic scaling up/down of number of virtual servers based on load triggers whereby server clusters are instantaneously created and terminated
- stable IP environment, applying automated DynDNS updates so site can maintain IP address in EC2.
- automatic load/traffic balancing
- dynamic configuration of virtual servers on boot
- easily configure/launch/manage multi-server architecture (number of front-end servers, MySQL Master/Slave servers, data replication, etc.)
Developers with previous EC2/S3 experience and scaling high-growth multi-server MySQL sites strongly preferred. It goes without saying that we are looking for a long-term relationship with the winning bidder.
