We have a Sql database for parts to different manufacturers. Also have a lookup utility script that we link to price db so customers can order parts. If the part number is no longer found in the database we need to write the part number, and date ordered to a seperate database. Purpose is to track requests for parts no longer available in order to build into a database of substituted parts (already in place). We need to scripts to write the part to the new db and a utility similar to a graphic page that will allow us to view parts most likely wanted and amounts as well as a time of year needed. Similar to a web stats page for hits etc. Also need the page to flag parts that are now replaced in the database by substitutes and to track the actual buys after the conversion. Hope this all makes sense. Not very complicated but important to track.
