betting script

There are two options here. 1. correct and ammend the existing perl script 2. throw together a new script. I have a script for fun betting (no money, it is just a bit of fun for my rugby forum) I have bought, and had installed the fun betting script from crooked bush, but it is not working. I KNOW it will work, as there is a working version online. My copy is not working however, but this is probably because I know nothing about cgi, and the guy I paid to instal it knew even less :D The script is simple. I am an admin, and I create a bet that people can then play eg I might say team 'a to beat team b by 20 points or more. The bet will have a ratio eg 2:1 (bet £1 get 2 back) and members will have a running total in their accounts. (all of this works, with the exception that the ratio is the same for both teams, and I would prefer it to be one team or the other, straight win). here is the link to the original script [login to view URL] Please understand this is for fun, and NOT using real money, so security etc is not a problem as no money is changing hands.
