Hello! I have clearly read your description. i am fully understand the task. I have experience with yeoman. Sometimes, i prefer to use generators too. I am familiar with node.js and socket.io. In save last 100 messages case i suggest to make counter of context user messages in memory. When new message arrives, we see if counter less than 100 then we create new record, if not - deleted oldest row and make insert new doc in collection. it will be the easiest way.
