Design a solution to rotate an antenna towards a strongest directional of a transmitting signal and/or GPS location

I am an Electrical Engineer having specialization in Electronics and Control, teaching in Electrical Department at FAST National University Pakistan. I am also persuing my MS degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in CONTROL. hi I have hardware : - rpi 2 , 3 - uart ublox GPS module ("tested and working on raspberry pi ") - stepper motor (" tested and working on raspberry pi"); software skills : c ,c++ , nodejs note : I can detect gps data and signal strength . and can control stepper motor. I can make this system work but need from you the system analysis ( how much move stepper motor to check signals , etc...)

Hello, I am an Electronics engineer working for different product designing firm as freelance. I have 4 -5 years of experience on Embedded systems and robotics etc. I have also worked with arduino and Raspberry pi related to robotics and other applications. In this project you have two objectives One is to rotate the antenna towards a specific gps location . Another s to fix the antenna towards the maximum signal strength. This can be done in Arduino itself with the help of some peripherals like signal strength calculator, gps and motor system for rotating the antenna. I can definitely do this project ....Which type of antenna and signals are you using. the signal strength part will depend on this ...

I can do your project, my idea is to used the number of satellites that the GPS is using for get the location. If the number of satellites are lower that a predefined threshold then a "search" algorithm will move the GPS to different direction until it find a better signal. This looks like a fun project. Do you have an antenna in mind? How about the GPS module? I've got good experience with robot localization and directional telemetry for UAV/Drones. This is probably something like what I have been wanting to do for myself for some time. I would love to discuss it further with you. I always provide industry standard documentation for all my work. I studied Geomatic engineering and Mechatronic engineering, so I have variety of skills which will make this solution reliable. Moreover I use Raspberry Pi daily, to produce solutions with similar background(Last week I calculated geolocation of the SIM card with information about signal strength)
