Detailed 3D Prototyping market research case study

We are very interested in the new and growing world of rapid prototyping. There are 3D printers, 5 axis CNC, laser scanning and more activities within the UK. We'd like to know how big demand might be, who the competition are, where they are, what services they offer? we are most interested in the small prototyping and one-off pieces in high quality such as toy and jewelry production. We are only interested in the United Kingdom for now. Some links are for the USA but they are more machinery suppliers in some cases than 'competition'. (not all printers print in layers) Who is offering what kind of service With what technology In what part of the country, and What can we do better?
