Create search function in access using VB.

So I have to create a database where it stores stock (tblStock), and also keep track of sales (tblTransactions). I have created both of these tables, I have also created a form (frmStock) where I can add, delete and edit information from tblStock. I have created a query where I can search for specific stock so that it displays all the information relative to that item of stock (qrySearch) but I feel that I need a stronger search function put in place through a form (VB coding behind a search button). And finally I need to actually create a sale form where I search for the product using the PartNo from tblStock, which I can then select if the product is new/used, then select wether the transaction is a sale (when updated the quantity is taken from tblStock relative to the quantity purchased) or wether the transaction is a refund (quantity is increased, opposite to a sale), then a button which updates the transaction and amends quantities relative to the sale/refund. ------------------- THIS IS THE FORM THAT I AM CURRENTLY HAVING PROBLEMS WITH, THE CODING THAT I AM CURRENTLY USING IS BEHIND THE SEARCH BUTTON ON THIS FORM. In my tblStock I have a field named "LastUpdated"... I don't know if it's possible but when a transaction occurs is it possible for this to change to the date of which the last transaction for that product occurred? This is a time sensitive project and must be completed within 2 days so I'm asking only experienced VB coders with experience in Microsoft Access database creation/manipulation to apply.
