Convert a Wordpress Blog Template to finished site to match demo

I am needing to put together my blog template to appear just as it does in the demo with a few minor customizations. I will NOT need the photo galleries (as seen up at the top of the page) and will instead need it to look like a writing blog (towards the middle/bottom of the page). I really liked the look of this template but don't know how to put it together to make it look like the sample. Here is the template: [login to view URL] and I will go into detail about specifics of content (page links, about section, etc.) I basically just need the framework to function as it does in the demo but I will edit the text and content.
