Summary Description: The WordPress Developer will create and maintain multiple WordPress sites. The WordPress Developer must be experienced in developing WordPress custom themes and plugins and have extensive knowledge of frontend programming (CSS, HTML5, jQuery, etc.). We are looking to build the "dream team" and selected candidate must have the ability to work with graphic designers, content writers, SEO specialists, etc. Candidates must have a solid understanding of web development best practices and be able to show examples of complex systems experience.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
WordPress development including theme and individual template development, plugin tweaks, new feature development.
Develop a working presentation layer based on approved requirements document or site mock-up.
Setup of WordPress options, plugin installation and configuration.
PHP and HTML development outside of WordPress for landing pages.
You should possess a good working knowledge of common SQL commands and their correct use.
Development within a multiple server configuration including development, staging and production servers.
Incorporating all necessary HTML and CSS into Wordpress themes, templates and additional PHP and HTML pages.
Project management.
Documentation of your work for end users and commenting and proper organization of code so other team members can work with your code
Supervisor: The Wordpress Developer reports to the Art Director.
Qualifications/Experience:
A Batchelor’s degree is preferred.
A minimum of two (2) years of Wordpress Developer experience is required.
Required Skills and Abilities:
A solid understanding of web application development processes, from the layout/user interface to relational database structures.
Knowledge of various media types such as video and audio.
Skillful in PHP, MySQL, XHTML 5, Javascripot, CSS, jQuery and general Web 2.0 techniques.
Experience with building friendly user interface, registration systems, and developing permission groups.
Strong communication and writing skills.
Strong organization skills to manage timelines and complete tasks quickly
