Build XSL with grouping and sorting and some HTML effects

I have one set of XML/XSL files that produces required HTML.

I have a 2nd set of XML files that has a different structure. It comes with default XSL.

I need someone to look at the 1st working set and build an XSL that will transform 2nd XML to a desired outcome. The developer who built the 1st set will be partially available for consultation.

Specs:

Good understanding of <xsl:key> is a must

XML should be transformed with XSL in overall to cover following:

1. Parents without children rendered first (easy) ID, URL

2. Parent with children rendered as: parent ID, URL first, then all children below ID, URL

3. Orphans (children without parent)
