Hi Sarah, I am an experienced fashion photographer that—like yourself had a massive amount of files that need organising. I use Lightrooms integrated filing system and name things by event with dates. Generally if I am working on a particular project I like to make virtual copies and put them in separate folders. Through using Lightroom, your files remain linked and it also sorts them into folders on your system. If you like I can send you screenshots of my filing system in both MACOS and Lightroom, and we can take it from there.
