I need to provide SSL certificates for our website, which is still only http and is getting flagged in most browsers as insecure now, and penalised accordingly.
The site is hosted in AWS, it's a single EC2 Frontend server and a DB. From what I read in AWS you can't attach certificates directly to the server - AWS expects you to use Elastic Load Balancing or Amazon CloudFront. This site only has one front-end server so that seems like it's only useful for protection from DDoS, but whatever. I don't think it's possible to do it using Route 53, but I'm not an AWS expert which is why I'm hiring you.
The site in general is a mess. This job is *not* an invitation for you to quote on all of the work to fix it, or to sell me on migrating to a host or platform you like. All this job is for is to apply the public certificate to the site as it exists in AWS.
You will be given access to the AWS console for the account, and will be able to order services such as Cloudfront through it if that's the route you want to take.
Please don't bid on this unless you know your way around EC2 and the AWS console. It would be helpful if you knew the AWS CLI well.
