Description of the research question (up to 1 page). This should be at a level that your peers could understand; also, it should argue why the question is worth investigating. Detailed experimental design (up to 3 pages). This should include: * A description of how the study will be carried out, especially the type of study used and why; * Study feasibility and resources required; * Correct citation of relevant references (e.g. stats texts, subject outlines, previous research work). * Be sufficiently detailed for someone to be able to replicate your experiment; * Cover any issues encountered in implementing the study. Presentation and analysis of results (up to 1 page). This should present the results obtained, and the outcomes of the statistical analyses; Conclusions and further work (up to 1 page). This should argue what can be concluded, identify any way of improving the study design, and indicate any appropriate further work. Appendix: Statistical calculations (up to 2 pages). This should include full workings for of all statistical methods used. If a statistics package such as SPSS is used, show how it was set up to perform the test (e.g. screenshots). In any case, stages such as formulation of hypotheses, etc. must be explicitly described. Selecting one descriptive and one qualitative statistical method from those covered in the module is advisable. If your find that these are not wholly appropriate for your study, you have two (equally acceptable) options: * Attempt to use one of the covered methods anyway, stating why this approach is deficient and what assumptions you had to make in using it; or * Identify and use some more appropriate method(s) taken from an authoritative statistics text. In this case you must carefully justify your choice and explain the method(s) used, fully referencing your source.
