Hello, I am an electronic engineer with more than 6 years of experience in Arduino programming. I have done a lot of projects based on the Arduino platform. I looked into the Instructables page you have shared and it is basically that operates on magnetic base of the chess pieces. SO that reed switch closes when the correct chess piece is on top of the square where the read switch is. I also looked into the code, and I can easily change the motor driving function with the UV lights. To drive the lights, we will have to connect them to Arduino via relay. The relay device would initially turn on regular lights and once, all the chess pieces are in place, it will switch the lights. I am confident of completing this project successfully and I can provide wiring diagrams, Code, and testing support. I am looking forward to hearing back from you. Thank you Anusha less

Using the hardware described below a simple yet robust system can be put into place to allow for the detection of chess pieces relative to the chess board, and which can activate/deactivate multiple lights (and other things as needed). The process to create this system would be simple. The first step would be to assemble the circuitry, hall effect sensors and a relay board would be directly attached to the Arduino's IO pins, then the power lines for the lights would be connected to the relay board along with the power for the lights. Note that the circuit design can be provided as needed as well as instructions on how to connect everything. Next simple code would be written which repeatedly checks to see if every required piece is in place, if so then the lights are activated/deactivated via the relay board. Note if any custom mounting hardware is needed I own a 3D printer and I am more than willing to design and ship them. I'm flexible on price as well as delivery time. If you have any questions or if you're interested feel free to reach out to me anytime. Required Hardware: Arduino nano (any Arduino would work, but this is one of the cheapest and easiest to hide), a few hall effect sensors (to sense magnetic fields), a few small neodymium magnets (to hide in the bottom of certain chess pieces), relay board (switching mechanism to control lights).
