We are looking for an original, long-form article with the title, “The Woods of Mexican Furniture.”
The article should be 2000-3000 words. We desire to have eight woods included:
1. Pine – 500 words
2. Alder – 250 words
3. Parota - 250 words
4. Mesquite – 250 words
5. Mango 200 words
6. Guamuchil 200 words
7. Granadillo 200 words
8. Machiche 200 words
The length is a guideline. However, we are looking for more extensive coverage of Pine compared to the other woods because Pine is popular, common and versatile.
The article will be organized with a section for each wood type.
The purpose of the article is to provide interesting information about each wood, the strengths and weaknesses of each wood for furniture, how the wood is commonly finished, and examples of furniture made with the wood. Each section should use a similar organization.
1. The name or common names of the wood (both in English and Spanish)
2. Where the wood is native to (where the wood is raised)
3. The traits of the wood, including Janka hardness ([login to view URL])
4. Styles of furniture commonly made with the wood.
5. Examples of finishes and stains / appearance of the finished wood (images. Just provide link to examples).
6. Examples of furniture made with the wood (these can be stock images or just links to images you find. We will be pointing to images outside our domain)
Please write in simple, direct English. We are just as interested in images as text.
