English is my native language and I have advanced degrees and coursework in business and Information Technology. I have worked in IT for nearly 40 years and held many senior technical positions.
While I do not have a degree in English Literature specifically, my academic background in Social Sciences and Business has required me to demonstrate an ability to perform both practical and original research.
I watch, on average, three newscasts daily and read two to three newspapers regularly. Additionally, I am plugged into a number of different news feeds through my presence on the Internet and social media.
Since a significant part of my responsibilities required me to develop strategic guidance in technology to senior management, I developed a strong foundational knowledge of most segments of the IT industry, including infrastructure, information security and risk management and software. I have demonstrated my ability to communicate my findings through the development of technical papers and presentations. Lately, I have been refining my skills by taking on projects involving ghost writing for blogs and developing content for web sites.
I am very much aware of the use of literary devices for improving the visibility of content in the search engines. This includes repetition of key words as well as using hyperlinks to draw attention to particular articles.
I am passionate about making technology work for us, not the converse and I regularly use Facebook and LinkedIn.
