Morphology of markets with analysis of cost and revenue under perfect and imperfect competitions

The aim of the project is to understand the various market structures; their distinguishing features and the analysis of cost and revenue schedules and curves in order to understand the profit maximizing behaviour of the firms The project work should be planned and executed by including the following topics: - types of market forms - identify one industry under each market form. For eg. automobile industry under oligopoly or toothpaste companies under monopolistic market - distinguishing features of such industries by highlighting the difference between perfect competition, monopolistic competition, monopoly, oligopoly and monopsony - total and average cost schedules and graphs in the short run for a producer - how cost varies with output - behaviour of total, average and marginal revenues under perfect and imperfect competition Focus to be on content, findings and format in order of preference.
