Hello,
I could start my proposal with:
Hello, my name is Ally. I live in England with my dog. I run my own business and work through Freelancer. I am qualified, skilled and wonderful.
Instead, I thought I should suggest that I'm not obnoxious or so self assured that i know you'll award me the project. Much the same with your video CV - there's a balance between how amazing you are being so arrogant that a recruiter will skip past you.
Producing something to suit you, your tone of voice and your physical demeanour would be a great start. You wouldn't hear the Queen of England saying "Yo Bro" and you wouldn't hear a soldier, on a battlefield, say "I am terribly sorry for any inconvenience my presence has caused".
It would have to be generic enough to match a number of companies in your field, but also show that you would be committed. You don't want to appear that vague so it seems you'll take any job, anywhere.
Incidentally, may I ask your field or indeed the profession you are looking at?
In advance, I would also like to explain that I won't be hiding behind my desk. I will annoy you! I will send questions, ask for details. In some cases I may even nag you! Not because I'm rude but so we can work to produce 'the best version of you' on screen.
I'd be happy to discuss this further (if my proposal hasn't sent you to sleep!)
Good luck with your video.
Ally
