Bachelor assignment for Business Ethics course!

1) Individual home assignment: Business Ethics Essay. Students have to collect 1 individual and 2 company-wise cases of ethical wrongdoings/dilemma and make an analysis of each of them based on the following criteria: Short summary, ethical considerations and dilemma for the decision maker, values and interests of stakeholders involved, social norms involved, factors influencing individual and company level behaviour, other options available for action, recommended ethical behaviour and its justification. In addition to the case analysis itself, students are required to read the relevant textbook (Crane, A. and Matten, D. (2010). Business Ethics: Managing Corporate Citizenship and Sustainability in the Age of Globalisation. 3rd edition. Oxford: Oxford University Press.) and also to select an academic journal article relevant to the given business ethics case, and thus integrate the case into a larger context of academic literature on the business ethics topic. The essay should be composed of an introduction (including aims and objectives of the assignment, introduction on type of cases to be analysed), the text body (with a structured paragraphing of each case to be analysed) and a conclusion section (in which students evaluate the type of cases, how the textbook and academic journal articles have widened their perspective on understanding the case itself, and finally comments on individual learning achieved as a result of completing the assignment.) Formal requirements: Lengths: 2500 +/-10% words 1 individual + 2 company cases Integration of textbook chapters and 3 academic articles (one for each case) Harvard style referencing to be used. (See Guide on the Intranet) The assignment will be delivered in two steps: STEP 1: An Interim Report will need to be submitted by uploading to Moodle on Week 7. (Hard copy might be requested by your seminar leader) . The Interim Report has to include the introduction, a short summary of the 3 cases (1 individual + 2 company cases) and an outline (it can be in a bullet point format) of the ethical considerations and dilemma for the decision maker, values and interests of stakeholders involved, social norms involved, and options for decision making. (See template.) In addition, the relevant textbook chapter and the 3 selected articles have to be listed in the reference list. Expected word count for the Interim Report is 1000 words. The purpose of the Interim Report is to provide constructive feedback to students at half way through to their Business Ethics Essay. The Interim Report is a requirement for the module, but will not be officially marked. You will not be able to upload the Final Business Ethics Essay without the Interim Report. STEP 2: The final Business Ethics Essay has to be submitted on Week 12 through Moodle. (A hard copy might be requested by your seminar leader.) (See description and requirements above.)
