We are currently developing a back office system which will be used by companies around the globe. The system is developed with ASP.NET 2.0 and used AJAX, C# and SQL server.
Within the back office systemj we need to have a tasks management system to mange the workflow.
Objective
The objective is developing a userfirnely and flexible tasks management system, which will help Back office employees to manage the workflow.
IMPORTANT: I need someone who has developed already this kind of modulair tasks management system. someone who has already a good structure for our needs.
Bellow you will find some examples of actions the application need to trigger:
- Print (merge) [certificates, invoices, booklets] -> check validity -> mergeprint
- Mail [certificates, invoice, etc.) -> check validity -> send mail
- Call [client for late payment]
- Check/Remind [unpaid order, meeting, etc]
There are different types of actions for different tasks. Each task can have a differnt [url removed, login to view] depends of the object ( invoice, certficates, etc).
What need a flexible system to design our own workflow of specific tasks. The designing of the workflow should be done within the online Back office. And clicking on specific task will lead the user to follow the pre-designed workflow of specific actions. The state of the task can be opening new page and filling some information, can be printing something, can be checking validity of the form, mailmerging a document, etc.
All tasks are displayed in the task list and reminder list of the back offcice users. Additionally, the task is automatically generated. So there should be a web service running on the server checking every minutes or so if new task should be added into the task list.
VERY IMPORTANT
We want to connect the tasks to MS outlook. So that we can synchroinize basic information with outlook. The actions as mentioned above cann only triggered within the back offcie.
