Looking to create a project that demostrates html5 websocket abilities. This small project is the first of several. Upon completion - if the coder is successful -- the coder could be asked to join our team for a websocket series of projects.
This first project is based on an HTML FORM. The objective is to record the activity of the form fields and buttons to a text file on the web server in real time.
Target server - linux (ubuntu or centos)
Taget server programming language -- c or c++
Target client - any windows based html5 browser (firefox, chrome ...etc)
Target javascript framework - EXTJS 4.0 or greater ..... jQuery??? maybe
Being new to websockets – I assume the process would look something like: …….
Step 1 – Browser client loads a websocket client page that contains a Html form. This form should use extjs 4.0 for greater UI/framework.
Step 2 – the browser client vi a html button opens a websocket server program that is used to talk to a text file.
Step 3 – as the curse moves from input field the client side javascript writes to the websocket server to record the following information:
A. upon entering a field – a message is sent to write “in field __name”
B. upon exit – a message is sent and written “exit field __name” & field value.
Step 4 – on submit, reset or cancel – a message is sent and written “submit button clicked”, “reset button clicked” ...etc….
Deliverables:
Installation notes need to be supplied.
