Environmental Research Articles for Nonprofit News Organization

Overview: We are a nonprofit news and outreach website working to uncover and describe environmental contamination by the military at various bases and communities. Our audience is targeted to veterans, federal workers, and their families. We have a list of 100 bases that we wish to profile and need someone who can research each base, provide a brief history about the base and the key contamination issues, define the environmental pollutants involved, describe any clean-up efforts or community activities, and basically provide an overview for each base with references. We need 100 credible, fact-based, professional articles with references from research included (we'll provide a few basic sources for each that we would like to see used) and you can add to those as needed. This project does not require any "on-location" reporting or investigating (although if we had the resources, we'd certainly love that). Instead, you'll seek out verifiable online sources of authority (government sites, medical journal sites, newspaper articles, etc. to get specific info/stats for your article). Think of it this way. Most of our readers are unsure where to find key points of information on these contaminated locations. We work to find, condense, aggregate and present all critical details on each location from various sources, saving our readers time. ------------------- Project Deliverables: Amount: 100 articles Length: 600-1000 words per article Timeframe: 10-14 days or less Review Process: We will be open for a few days for bids. We will then review all received bids and shortlist down to 2-3 individuals. Finalists: Shortlisted bidders will be messaged with a request to write an article with one of our specific topics. The finalist that writes an article that best fits what we seek will be awarded the entire project. We have attached one of our existing articles for you to use as a guide as to what is typically expected. -------------------- Final Thoughts: This is a first for us. Until now, we've been doing all of the work ourselves, but the demand for information is outpacing what we can do alone and we need to build up our content further. If this goes very well, we may continue with you on providing other articles in the future. If you're a current or former journalist, your background would be very helpful in this project. Please keep in mind we are low budget nonprofit. Just being upfront about it. That said, while the pay may not be sexy, the work is of vital importance. Our goal is to fully inform as many people as possible about their potential exposures and associated health risks. Thank you again for your help.
