Small NY-based company looking for project/contract. C++ and Windows Driver Development Kit experience is likely required.
Create a Windows PDF printer that will print files to a directory based on logged in user and specified in a configuration file. The output filename must be unique and never overwrite and have a .pdf extension. If no valid configuration is found and loaded, the "printer" should show "not Ready". It shall open the configuration dialog (see below) with "printer properties..."
An accompanying windows dialog/application used to specify the configuration is required.
If the output director(ies) do not exist, create the director(ies). The output directory for each user must be unique. (no two users can have the same output folder)
This will be used in a Remote Desktop Connection session, so it must be clear that the output documents are saved to the location specific to that user.
Third party components are allowed if the components may be distributed and packaged royalty-free in perpetuity within a commercial product, and the total cost of all third-party component licensing does not exceed $1500 US.
The virtual print driver must work with any software that allows printing. Any existing software must work with the virtual printer as it would any actual print driver. including but not limited to MS Office, Office Libre/Open Office, Adobe products (Photoshop, acrobat, etc.), web browsers (Edge, Chrome
Installation files, settings, registry entries and instructions must be included.
Must be compatible with Windows Server 2012 and later (all editions).
In essence, this should work like the "Microsoft Print To PDF" virtual printer, but without prompt to specifying a location each time a document is printed.
