$2-8 USD / hour

Hi, We have a team of native writers who rewrite articles related to WWII and historical events. These are perfectly written but we would like to make them more precise by running them through a Proofreader/Editor before sending them live on the website. The Proofreader must be a native english speaker with great english who is willing to rewrite a few sentences as a part of edit if so needed. As an end product, we are looking for the articles that are 100% error free. You will be given around 5-6 articles to proofread per day at the start. Let us know the price you will charge to proofread 6 articles. Please the articles are already rewritten by native writers so there won't be much so please place a reasonable bid. Thanks

I'm a grammar-obsessed lover of history, and I'd be glad to nitpick your articles to perfection. I have an instinctive, visceral reaction to poor writing, and I'm something of a perfectionist. I truly enjoy turning poor, fair, and good writing into excellent prose. Some have called me intolerant of minor errors. Suffice to say that I refuse to leave an error uncorrected. I'd even love simply to read the articles you've selected, so raising them to the highest standard possible would be a joy. Feel free to contact me for more information. Sincerely, Elliott Seyler (Seylerius)

Hi moiz2012! Thank you for your message. I would welcome the opportunity to join your team of editors and proofreaders and contribute to your projects. I am a proficient editor and proofreader, with experience in a wide range of material, including academic papers, technical documentation, educational textbooks, web content, marketing and business copy, print ephemera and general interest articles. I have the proverbial editor's eye for detail and would work quickly and accurately on your web articles on World War II and other historical events, rephrasing or rewriting sentences where required. I would work according to your preferred method: I normally provide two versions of an edited document, one showing the edits tracked, the other a clean version, with the tracking "accepted" for convenience. I work in Word DOC or other formats including structured XML, as required. I am proficient in both US English or UK English, as well as other standards. (My experience has included conversions of material between standards for USA-based clients.) When working on a project, I keep channels of communication open, remain available for follow-up tasks, and maintain strict confidentiality with respect to the material. I have done a great deal of work with clients and teams distributed across different time zones. I would be available as soon as required. Kind regards, Phil

To whom it may concern, I'm both very interested as well as qualified for this job. I have served as a senior editor on a newspaper and I am therefore used to reading articles with a keen attention to detail and responding quickly and effectively. Furthermore, I have worked on projects of my own relating to WWII and have an expertise in the subject matter. I think with this focused interest it will make my edits more effective and precise. Depending on the length and quality of the articles I would be willing to charge around 6 USD. Let me know if you're interested. Best, Hannah Borenstein

Good day. I would love to work with you on this project. Here's a little background information about me: I am a native English speaking professional proofreader, with excellent editing skills and a strong administrative background. I have edited full-length novels, multiple eBooks, company brochures, many items of business correspondence, etc. Some recent comments from my clients: “Such a skilled and professional editor - really knows her stuff! Her comments were/are extremely helpful to my novel. Communication and timeliness of the deliverable were also above expectations. I would like to work with her again!” “She is amazing! She's personable, hard working and incredibly knowledgeable about proofreading/editing. I hope to hire numerous times in the future. Hire her! ” I have lived and worked all over the world, and bring this global perspective to my editing projects. My exam results confirm that I have an exceptional command of both US and UK English. Thank you for considering my proposal - I would love to have the opportunity to work with you!

How long are these articles? That would have a bearing on how many hours it would take. In any case, I'm fairly knowledgeable about World War II. I was a wargamer in my youth, and I'm confident enough to make significant edits to high-traffic Wikipedia articles, e.g. Battle of Britain, Battle of Midway, etc. Check out my biography of Ulrich Steinhilper. He was quite an interesting guy, and his article came out quite nicely.

In addition to detecting bad grammer and questionable phrasing, I am good at noticing both things that need changes because they are disconcerting and things that need more explantion to make a reader feel comfortable with the flow and content of what he is reading. I don't know what size articles you are talking about, but assuming each article takes an hour or less to proofread I will do them for $5 or less each, $30 per day or less for a 5-day week. I very much would like to do this job for you, and I feel sure you would be pleased with the results. If you would like to give me a try, I will do a day's worth of articles as a test at no cost to you. Please contact me if you have any questions, and please contact me to offer me your job. Charley

$1 per 500 words (matchless proofreading). I am a Computer Science student and have excellent English writing and proofreading skills. I personally LOVE long term relationships rather than part-time gigs. You will find me honest and dedicated helper. I work at a good rate, both in terms of speed and economy. Feel free to ask me for a brief trial. I have samples to support my claim. . Regards

I have good understanding of the world war II historical events. Since this period pioneered many aviation growth technologies which were induced by the demand for aircrafts as a means of launching attacks and carrying out surveillance. I have covered most in my studies of aeronautical engineering.

This is an interesting project from a content point of view - and of course very appealing to me as a native English speaker and qualified editor and proofreader. I hold a Diploma in this subject, but more importantly, I have been writing business and academic papers for many many years in the course of my various tertiary studies and my management career. I live in Australia and find that having a few hours ahead of most clients, I can get copy back ready for their review at the start of the day. I work for myself so when I'm on your job, my time is yours and I have no other interruptions or obligations. I completed my most recent job 1 day ahead of the 2 day project so you can rely on me to be punctual with my work deadlines. I notice that you have not given any information on how long each article is so the number of hours per week may be in fact a little less. You are most welcome to contact me with more information if you wish, and I would adjust that aspect of my bid as appropriate. I usually work on Microsoft Word - I am a member of a Word Experts Group in one of the freelance groups I work for - and use track Changes and Comments. From your description, it doesn't sound as though there will be much to mark up. I would submit a tracked changes version and a clean version if that works for you. I am also able to convert other text documents also if required. Whatever the outcome of your selection process, I wish you well in this venture.
