I am a post graduate power electronics engineer and having very good industrial work experience in reliability analysis like MTBF and DFMEA. I did many MTBF calculations for different products which having component number more than 500. My approach is like this ,
1. Collecting the FIT(failure in time ) from the vendors for ICs and some of the semi conductor devices
2. calculating the stress for the discrete components like resistors,capacitors,diodes and Ic also in case FIT data not available.
3. Enter the stress and FIt data in tool and extract MTBF report from the tool.
I used Item tool kit which is very efficient tool for MTBF calculation and will do for you with the same tool. It is MNC preferred tool for their reliability calculations.
I need below info to start the project:
Schematics,BOM including part no and vendor name if possible.
If you want i will share the previous work sheets for your reference. I will do the best way of MTBF prediction. Please allocate for me. The time will be decided based on no of components on your schematics. Budget also i will vary if the work is less than i estimated.
