Will be fitting out, upgrading and modernising canal and river vessels to be as eco friendly as possible but with all the conveniences of a modern home in town. I will be working with clients to assist them in becoming as self sufficient as possible within their available budget. The emphasis will be on utilising the best of both old and modern technologies. Off grid life does not have to be hard.
I have many years in the engineering fields working on machines the size of houses one day then small high speed machines the next. From very basic relay controlled systems to high tech computerised integrated manufacturing systems. Before this I completed a full electrical craft apprenticeship since then I have received certified training in many aspects of applied practical engineering skills.
But I have always escaped modern day life pressures by getting back to nature and enjoying the simple pleasures in life. Peace and quiet, fresh air, wildlife, wild food (proper scrounger at heart really) which is the best food. I have spent much of my free time this past decade learning about foraging and basic survival skills from the awesomely knowledgeable Fraser Christian.
I want to make money of course. But I’m not out to build an empire and buy myself a mega yacht. Too much like hard work and head aches for my liking. I’m all about helping people with both my knowledge and practical skills and my ability to teach people new skills by building their confidence whilst getting them to know the limits of their own level of competence and therefore avoid creating dangerous circumstances. I am always up for learning new skills myself and often swap knowledge and skills with others I know via organisations such as helpful peeps.
Initially I just need a very basic under development site as the business grows I will want to be able to add video clips, reviews, projects undertaken. My personal boat home fit out. Services available etc. Offers, payment means, courses available
A bit about the whole business aim. To build up a business that younger people can take forward when I decide I’ve had enough. Want to train people in my skills and help them gain recognised qualifications.
