I'm Ben. I'm a chartered accountant from the UK with 7 years' professional experience. Unlike many accountants, I write clearly and concisely, in easy to read and easy to follow language. Further, I have strong experience documenting financial processes, both from my early career at Rolls Royce, right through to my most recent employment at HERE Technologies, where I created and subsequently documented the financial processes for my department.
Doing this job well would require first speaking to the current process owner, where I would take notes to understand what they are doing. I would then draft the process instructions, which I would send to them proof read. Whilst I wouldn't expect changes to often be made, it is important to give the current process owner an opportunity to do so. I would then send the completed document to you.
I do understand the need to write explicit process instructions in circumstances such as yours, both for internal knowledge retention and, potentially, external audits. As such, I will take particular care to do so.
Overall, I believe that my strong technical background combined with my high-level writing ability makes me particularly suited to this role.
