Freelance write needs a new site!

We're in need of a designer (or group of designers) to create a new web site with a very specific backdrop in mind - the London city finance sector. The project is for a freelance writer who has her anonymous diary column published in a newspaper each week; it is a satirical exposure of the hypocrisy which is the City of London. The site must appeal primarily to women aged between 18 and 44, will contain interactive forums and the functionality to encapsulate some sort of blog, 6 – 8 pages in all 1. Introduction page 2. Front (home index) page (blog pages / articles) 3. Forum pages 4. About the author 5. Contact us 6. Links IMPORTANT: Designs must be entirely original and can NOT be stock templates or based on previous work done for another client. The site must utilise a new look-and-feel consistent across all pages. Provider MUST be an expert in CSS layouts, the use of Flash is allowed. Here's how the process will work: 1. Provider shows us four (4) different design mock-ups in rough form. We choose one design from the four to continue with. After one design is chosen, we pay 25% of the total project cost. 2. Provider creates the site we select and host it for us to complete at least one cycle of UAT 3. You must bug-test the site in Internet Explorer (6 & 7), Safari, and Firefox browsers on BOTH Mac and PC, fixing any bugs that are seen 4. Upon completion of the site, we pay an additional 25% of the cost. 5. When the site is successfully set up on our server, we pay the final 50%. Payment via GAF escrow only (no exceptions). We will provide some direction to designer(s) and specific instructions on content and elements that need to be included. We have no logos or other images, all costs must be included in your bid. The site MUST be bug-tested in Internet Explorer, Apple Safari, and Mozilla Firefox browsers on Windows PC and Apple Macintosh (OSX) computers, with particular attention to IE 6 as the target audience is mostly in the corporate sector with this browser as standard. Final deadline for this project is five (5) days after we've chosen you as the provider. So five (5) days after we choose you, you must have successfully set up the site on our server. If provider can complete the entire process in three (3) days or less, we will pay an additional 10% on top of your winning bid! You MUST provide examples of previous web site design work only, not just Flash movies, logo designs, or any other non-Web site designs, please – these web sites must be live and hosted so that source code may be viewed for checks on coding style and compliance with standards.
