Hi, I was working on a project recently where I had to 'convert' a poem into a children's story. The employer's preferred writing style was more of a poetic one. Here's a sample of my writing:
The night was cold and dreary, barren of life. Then, without warning, the darkness was accompanied by the sound of hurrying feet; pitter-patter, pitter-patter it went.
It was ten-year-old Asif who had broken the silence. A strange sight it made to some; a boy outside the warm hearth of home in the dead of night. Yet, to Asif, it made perfect sense.
Words had carried him far from his warm bed. Words that had cut him to the bone. It was the heated exchange of words at home that weighed heavy on his mind as he slowly trudged through the dark with feet that had begun to ache.
Seeking shelter, a place to lay his tired head, he caught sight of a lush, green forest. Weary-eyed, he plodded through tangles of bushes, boots caked with mud, only to pause for breath near an old tree.
If you're interested to work with me, I'd prefer you to send over one page from the project so I can work on it and you can see if it's something you like. If it is, then we can work on it from there and discuss further details. Cheers.
