Customize Open Atrium Intranet Platform

We need help customizing the overall look and functionality of an intranet built with Open Atrium. We have created the basic, out of the box platform, hosted it at a unique URL and played around with the functionalities a bit but need help from an experienced developer in customizing it. I can share the existing intranet after being awarded the job. We are looking for someone with past Open Atrium development experience. Examples of past Open Atrium projects would be a big plus. We are looking for someone to provide feedback on our wish list and give advice on whether specific items are worth the time investment or not. Ideally we want to keep this as simple as possible and focus on ease of use. We understand any development customization tasks can be time consuming and can create bugs. We want to utilize out of the box functions whenever possible. Attached is a proposed structure to the Open Atrium intranet as well as rough ideas of the certain page layouts. Again we are open to simplifying if this requires less customization. Here is ideally we want the intranet to include: Homepage -- linked feature blocks to the other pages, announcements with text and pictures, blocks with anniversaries and birthdays (the client will update these monthly), a calendar (only interested in the calendar if it will integrate with Outlook. Is this possible? Departments -- linked icons or feature blocks to lower level pages (same concept of the people page on their current site. Can share with serious candidates. HR/Safety/Sales/CSR sections (all will follow the same format) -- announcements, documents/files section Knowledge Center -- question and comment style forum (most recent question at the top), users should be able to post pictures with their questions (not just text), search functionality specific to just this section News -- links to lower level pages Company News -- announcements, documents Industry News -- posts from users with links to outside articles Permissions -- each employee will be able to access/read every page (even the department pages that they aren't a part of). All employees should also be able to post and comment on the knowledge center page. For the department pages (HR, Safety, Sales, CSR), there will be a manager of each with editing permissions for their specific page. (E.g. The HR manager would need to be able to manage her page, Safety coordinator ability to manage her page, etc.) Then, the client will have admin permissions and be able to edit any page. Ideally I would like to work off a fixed price but hourly could be negotiable. don't apply if you don't have experience with Open atrium!!!
