We are a publishing house specialising in energy related magazines. We require freelance designers to support the completion of our titles. We do currently have designers but our workload now, is such that we need short notice support to help ensure we reach our deadlines. In the long-term we are looking at taking on more regular workers through on-going contractors. Ideal candidates will be available at very short notice and able to deliver completed work on the same day - this is to allow clients sufficient time to approve designs prior to publishing.
Work will consist of bespoke page design for advertisements, front covers and articles, and modification work to template pages for contents, comments and press releases. Our rates are $5 per page for bespoke design and $3 per page for template work. This would also cover requests for revisions - however, part of our criterion is to choose Freelancers whose work we already like, which will massively reduce the need for revisions. Our payment schedule follows our invoicing schedule - which means settlement for work conducted is based around our publishing dates. We have an excellent record with Freelancer and have never missed a payment, but you are free to talk with the company's team about us should you need. Because each month is different the page count is tallied, agreed, then milestoned in total at the end of the project.
We would expect design to be created in InDesign to ensure compatibility with our in-house work. Obviously familiarity with the Adobe's Creative Suite is optimal.
Self-motivation and an excellent eye for detail is essential - most revision requests are made because of mistakes in the layout.
Our magazines are presented to companies and organisations such Siemens, Statoil, Total, the US Department of Energy, the World Petroleum Council and Airbus, so your work will be reviewed by some of the world's leading establishments.
