We’re facing issues with the WordPress migration process. 1. Caching Issues 2. Images and files still linking to the older domain. Hosting: GoDaddy Domain: GoDaddy WordPress Theme: Divi Domain needed to be migrated into [login to view URL] Domain currently in [login to view URL] The current live site at [login to view URL] was built using Squarespace. The new site was designed and developed on WordPress using a dummy domain buy2free.com. Upon completion of the development, the WordPress site was migrated to [login to view URL] for the purpose of testing and to see whether it would migrate easily or not. So we changed the domain attached to the hosting at GoDaddy, from [login to view URL] to beta.abolishfoundation.com. Also at WordPress, we changed WordPress Address and Site Address to beta.abolishfoundation.com. After the migration we faced a lot of problems. The first issue was caching. That is for some reason the migrated website was not showing the website as we developed, but instead it was showing cached styles. But this issue was fixed after a day. The second issue was the Media files links. For some reason, the website was linking to [login to view URL] domain for most of the files. There is no hosting connected to [login to view URL] still we’re getting an error. But after further research, we found that all those references are coming from the database. So we changed all of them manually. Even after we that, we still got 6 files which were linking to [login to view URL], which were fixed again manually. Now, [login to view URL] is running a website which finally needs to be migrated to [login to view URL] with no downtime. Before the final migration is done, the site currently at [login to view URL] needs to be migrated to another test site, say alpha@abolishfoundation.com. If the migration is completed without any issues, only then as per the following parameters the final migration needs to happen: 1) Scheduled date for final migration 2) Scheduled time for final migration with 2 hours as buffer. Time preferred – 1PM IST Apart from the above primary requirement, following are our queries regarding WordPress: 1. Is there a tool to migrate WordPress website without any problems and Latency which can prevent all the bugs from the above? 2. For Future, we should be able to test and deploy the website with easy. This there any plugin for such implementation for WordPress website? Thank you for your valuable time. Waiting for your response.
