In a Hostel, which comprises of various stakeholders such as students, wardens, hostel manager etc. where all of them needs to maintain the records related to student attendance, complaints, facilities, room allotment etc. In present scenario these records are maintained manually by the staffs, warden and security guards. Manually maintaining these records may lead to human errors, time consuming and more effort is required.

To eliminate all these effect our project aims at providing automated S/W for the hostel management. It is implemented for three types of user namely the students, warden and the hostel manager. Our system provides a one-stop interface to connect various stakeholders with each other in a single platform. The system includes various functionalities such as automated attendance, complaints, feedback and it also provides transparency. The system has a centralized Data store where all the records and informations are stored and are well organized. The records and informations will be maintained and updated automatically which will result in reduction of human errors, manual effort and time [url removed, login to view] increases the efficiency of the system performance.

Hostel management system is automated software that can be implemented or deployed in a hostel of any educational organization. The objective of the project is to build an efficient hostel management system which supports the management of the Hostel to operate the Hostel in an Automated Level, to fulfill the requirement of the various stakeholders of the project (Student, Warden, Proctors and Admins).A hostel comprises of various stakeholders such as Students, wardens, Hostel Managers etc. In a hostel, all these stakeholders needs to maintain various types of records related to student attendance, complaints, facilities provided to particular student, room allotments of students, in and outgoing of students, leave records, penalties etc. In present scenario all these records are maintained manually by warden, various staffs and security guards. Manually maintaining these records is time consuming, may lead to human errors and also more effort is required. Therefore, in order to overcome and eliminate these problems and effects we came up with an automated Hostel Management system.

In a hostel, our automated hostel management system software is implemented for three types of user namely the students, warden and the hostel manager. Our system provides a one-stop interface to connect various stakeholders with each other in a single platform. All of them will have their own login pages respectively from where they can communicate with each other. The system includes various functionalities such as automated attendance, complaints, feedback and it also provides transparency. All these functionalities are automated unlike the present scenario. The system has a centralized Data store where all the records and information’s are stored and are well organized. These records can be viewed, modified and updated by the authorized users. This increases the efficiency of the system performance and also reduces time consumption and human effort.

For the front end of the application, the use of Angular is done which enhances the efficiency of the front end processing as we are implementing the model-view-controller technique build the it. The back end is being built using PYTHON with the support of Django framework. Django Framework provides an easy connectivity with the front end and supports Ajax call, which helps us in making it a SPA (single page application).Security Measures have been taken by implementation of Encryption and session validation. Communication will be implemented by the help of self-built sms-gateway as well as SMTP service.
