HTML5 Version of Cyberball with added Settings Files:
Right now, we have the HTML5 version of Cyberball that allows for three players and only two settings: exclude participant or include participant. Now we need the HTML5 version to support all of the original settings files from the original Java version of Cyberball ([login to view URL]~willia55/cyberball/).
Currently, there is a “settings” parameter in the URL, and the only options are “3plin” and “3plos” -- signifying 3 player inclusion and exclusion, respectively. We want this settings parameter to be able to be set to any of the settings files in the original game of Cyberball. The settings files will determine how many players are in the game, how many times a player is thrown the ball by the other players, and whether they are included or excluded. We do not want players to select their own setting file. We want you to modify the game so that players will be sent to the selected settings files via a parameter set in the URL. We will also need the documentation to be updated so it describes what each settings parameter means.
Finally, we want one additional parameter that enables a “watch only” version of the game. In this version, the participant only watches a player/their avatar get excluded or included. In the “watch” condition everything is the same, except that the player doesn’t have to click to throw the ball. Instead, a random number generator should decide which of the other players to throw the ball to, and the time schedule on which to do so. This player's name also needs to be customizable. There needs to be a parameter for player’s name with the default set to "you.”
