Most of my business comes from PayPal and at the moment once a transaction has been completed, i log in to PayPal, check to make sure payment is there and i enter the transaction number along with their email, name, address etc. into my SQL database via a simple html/asp webpage which isn’t accessible to anyone. I then send an email to the buyer with a link to my website with a query string passcode (transaction number) attach to the end of it. Once the buyer click the link and opens the registration page, the passcode gets deleted from the SQL database (so that it cannot be used again) and then the buyer completes his details on my website. So. What i need coding in classic asp, using IPN, is when a transaction is complete/paid. PayPal to communicate with my website and transfer the transaction number, customers details i.e email, name, address etc. to my database, to then generate a static link to my website with the transaction number at the end of it. i.e [login to view URL] and then this to be forwarded to the customer using the email address imported from PayPal.

Your asp script should retrieve the transaction-id from Paypal IPN, and from here the script should extract the transaction detail over Paypal API which is SOAP-based service, so it should pass the request in XML. The function on Paypal API would be GetTransactionDetail(). Using classic API is a bit hard as it has no built-in SOAP/Web Service function, but we could use [login to view URL] object for this purpose. Two work days only for presenting this functions
