catalog app for ipad & iphone

write an ios app to browse and view our consumer catalog dynamically using ios app.

Steps to consider

1- the user launch the app from iphone or ipad.

2- the app will automatically load the first page of our publication (pdf file) and display immediately. after that, the subsequent pages will preload in the background. Notice that the pdf file is host on our dropbox account. not on the device.

3- the user will scroll through pages horizontally, the pages slide smoothly.

4- if needed, the user can zoom in/out particular page using two thumbs gesture. zoom should work smoothly.

5- our catalog file will be stored on our drop box account, where we need to update on a regular basis.

6- The app should display our logo and navigation buttons , and exit button.

The app should be developed using native programming languages.

It should automatically scale to work on iphone & ipad.

It should have the capability to render clean pdf file. no intermediate image conversion is allowed.

Deliverables :

- xcode project source code.

- compiled files for ipad & iphone. ready to be submitted to the app store.

7- the gui interface should be clean and neat, covering the whole screen leaving no margins, supporting horizontal and vertical screen views on ipad and iphone.


The app should also support an offline reading mode mechanism , as following

1- offline means, the user can read copy of the pdf file stored on the local device's filesystem, no need for internet connection.
2- Each time the app is launched it will read (by default) the local pdf file which exist on the device memory, BUT, it will attempt also to connect to the dropbox account ( silently in the background ), without interrupting the app.
3- once connection is established it will detect if a newer version of the pdf is present on the server or not.
4- if yes, the app will pop up a message to the user, informing him that a newer version of the pdf is available, and whether he/she likes to download the latest.
5- if yes, the app will show a download progress bar to the user , the user has to wait till the download process complete.
6- Once download has been complete. the app will verify if the downloaded file is corrupted or not.
7- If everything is ok, the app will delete the old version of the pdf on device memory, and replace it with the new downloaded version. then a message will pop up informing the user that a new pdf version has been downloaded successfully.
8- If the pdf found corrupted, it will be deleted from device file system,then the user will be informed giving him the chance to download the pdf file again.
9- By default & at any other point in time. point 8 should be executed whenever the app failed to open the corrupted local pdf,
