Distinguishing between still image/Live Camera/Recorded Video using opencv or any other tech

I want to distinguish between a Still Image , Live Camera and Recorded Video.
Using opencv ( c++ or java) , i am trying to read the frames from live webcamera to detect face and trying to distinguish , if some one puts his Still Image in front of camera or not.
Similary, if someone is playing a recorded video in front of camera, i want application to prompt for each scenario .
