The project goal is to create/debug a code fragment that correctly implements an SSL certificate and a private keystore for an Apache HttpClient application that communicates with a secure web services site.
Code exists that successfully communicates with this site with HTTPS to access a test data platform. Access to live production data requires an SSL certificate and, optionally, a private keystore (which we prefer for deployment reasons). Draft code for this enhancement also exists but returns errors on execution. The actual certificate must remain private while code iterations are tested. Debugging efforts thus far have not been able to resolve the issue. It may be related to the set up and configuration of the Apache HttpClient, with the certificate / keystore itself or other factors. The objective is to perfect this process of integrating and deploying the SSL certificate and private keystore in Java code.
