I have to compete the filing requirements for a PCT national phase Utility Model application in Uganda. I have alreday obtained a filing date by submitting the scanned application via e-mail to the Uganda patent office. The initial PCT application is for a patent while I have to convert the application to a Utility Model application for national phase in Uganda. As per Uganda regulations, I need a patent attorney who is authorized to represent before Uganda patent office to act as an agent for my application.
The following is the list of tasks to be performed by the appointed attorney:
1. Sign the power of attorney which would be sent by me to his/hrt postal address. Submit the signed power of attorney and other document sent by me to the Uganda patent office (by any mode convinient to him and acceptable to the office).
2. Pay the necessary fees to the patent office. The fees would be sent by me and is excluded from the offer price of this project.
3. Receive notifications from the patent office with regards to the application and communicate to me the notifications via any mode convinient to him (e-mail, fax or post).
No prosecution of the application is required.
The following costs are included in the offer price of the project:
1. Cost of submitting the socuments to the patent office via the mode chosen by the agent.
2. Cost of sending me the first three notifications with regards to the application via the mode chosen by the agent.
More than three notifications are not expected. In case, the office send more than three notifications, the transaction cost of sending the notifications would be borne by me. In case there is a need to send any communication to the office after the application has been filed, the transaction cost of sending this notification will be borne by me.
