Another Simple monitoring project for name63 - sorry i got a new router and the build didn't have rflow on it, so i cancelled project but it turns out a slightly older build i installed does have rflow on it so all good :).
Budget Approx $50 USD.
I need a freelancer to install, and configure ntop on my home network, I have a web server (virtual machine) which will be the ntop server, and i want to collect data from about three routers that goes to this machine. Two of those routers are wireless access points and switches, whilst another router is the main house gateway, switch and wireless network. The idea is that i want to be able to see the amount of traffic being sent and received by the network at any of the DD-WRT devices, but also see the amount of traffic coming into the network, and leaving the network through the internet connection.
I believe the ntop utility lets you see traffic by type, source, destination etc and this is important, i want to be able to take a look at graphs to see exactly how my network is going in terms of traffic to each point, and also in and out of the network.
I am running DD-WRT with rflow on each router, and also a Debian ISPConfig server as a virtual machine. It would be great if i could have a subdomain name that takes me to the ntop web interface rather than having to do [login to view URL], instead i would do [login to view URL] (have wildcard subdomains turned on already).
Can provide SSH access, VPN access if needed. But basically id like to get the completed product, that is i can connect and see data being logged etc, but also a brief instruction on how to add new hosts if i want to track a different router etc (even maybe outside my network).
Also since your quite good at linux, could you in your bid also have a go at installing a zabbix agent on the router. Its not the end of the world if you can't but i do know one exists based on the website:
It looks quite small, so if it could be installed in the router itself that would be great but if not i do have a USB drive it could be installed on since the router i am using (WNDR3800) has a USB port and DDWRT on it.
Thanks!
Hi! I'm here and ready to start.
About zabbix agent for dd-wrt which you want - it's outdated now, so not every feature of 2.0 version can be used (low level discovery for example). I don't think that it is worth be installed anyway - you already can get a lot of data from snmp. That's if you don't need something very special of course.
