I have a custom built application that was written ~8 years ago. It is using Ruby Enterprise Edition 1.8.7-2010.02 and rails 2.3.5 we would like to move to the top of the stack if possible. The main reasons for this are performance increases we would get from using Active Record 5.2.0. The server it is running on is CentOS 5.7. If I have missed any key pieces of info please let me know.

Hello, does your application have any tests? the best approach is to update one minor version at the time and run the tests. also you need to consider all the dependencies for your ruby gems, it's not only updating your rails version. Could you share your gemfile ? Bests Julian
