We are building an online school application for kids (10 to 12 years) to learn French, called "Quartier Etoile".
It will contain a number of excercises devided into 4 chapters.
Herefor, we need an attractive, cool and not too childish interface (these guys are 10, so no kindergarten designs!).
The theme of the application (it is based on an existing book) is space and the galaxy, planets.
It has 4 chapters, and each chapter is symbolised by an already existing character. So these characters should be present as some sort of navigation buttons, and the active character will also be included in the interface as an animation. This animation is not part of this project, you can just put the existing image of it (see ZIP).
Each chapter contains a number of excercises (max 20), so we need a subnavigation to visualise how far down the active chapter the child is at this moment.
So we need 1 screen containing:
- logo of the application "Quartier Etoile" (see zip)
- navigation with the 4 chapters
- subnavigation with 14 exercises from the active chapter (items will not have a name, just use some icon to visualise how many excercises from the active chapter are already finished/still need to be finished
- larger character as an animation (just use the still image)
- reward system: for each correct exercise a student can earn something, once he reaches a visible limit or number, he will get rewarded (reward not part of this project). Visualisation of this reward system must be obvious and attractive: kids must be triggered to fill in just 'one more excercise' to get to their reward.
READ REST OF BRIEFING in the detailed requirement section!!
good luck!

## Deliverables
Tech specs:
- we need a PSD file with all the different layers in it
- dimensions: width designed for 1024 (so max 990 px wide) height not really fixed (we will use the available screen height). Just do not make the upper part of the GUI too high, so we still have enough pixels left to integrate our excercises.
Style:
Since this application is based on an existing school book, it needs to be in line with that design. The 4 characters (see ZIP) are taken from this book and give a pretty good idea of the style to use.
As mentioned, the book uses the theme of space, the galaxy, planets etc.. so you can use elements referring to that.
Sketch:
In the ZIP file you can also find a pencil sketch. This is not a binding wireframe, feel free to be creative. It is just to make clear how the screen can be built up, but you can switch/change/add elements.
Project work:
to avoid doing too much unnecessary work, I would prefer some pencil of computer sketches, so not too detailed, just to get on the same page before going into details, colours etc..
